The new branch will be approximately 22,000 square feet and will include a community room and larger areas for computer services, creative projects, and interactive programming and services. Nearly 1,500 square feet will be dedicated “maker space,” equipped with a 3-D printer and other equipment to facilitate entrepreneurship development. The facility will also contain a pedestrian plaza and the parking deck paid for by SPLOST funding. It is estimated to be the most-used library in Gwinnett with over 1,000 visitors per day. Located on a 1.5-acre site off Lillian Webb Park, this project is part of the city’s ongoing mixed-use expansion efforts to stretch Norcross’ traditional downtown area toward Buford highway.
