Norcross Welcomes its new Director of Economic Development

Greetings,
My name is William Corbin and I am the new Economic Development Director for the City of Norcross. On behalf of your Economic Development team, I would like to thank you for being a loyal reader of our newsletter! Whether you are a business/property owner, community stakeholder or simply an interested resident, we appreciate you and want you to know that we value your presence and contributions to this wonderful city called Norcross. As you likely know, these NorcrossED Newsletters bring you the latest economic development-related news, updates and events that are happening across the city. Part of my experience in this field includes a four-year stint at the City of Duluth from 2014-2018, where I worked together with leadership to help build and implement economic development plans, programs and services, including much of the downtown and citywide development that you see if you’ve visited our neighbors and friends directly north of us in Duluth. Having been a resident within either the incorporated city limits or the greater Norcross region for several years now, I am familiar with the area and excited to make a positive and lasting contribution to our local community. I am passionate about the socioeconomic stability and well-being of towns, cities and regions, and I have a strong interest in how the economic development-related activities of public and private organizations in our communities affect the daily lives of businesses, residents and visitors. My professional philosophy is based on what I consider the three main parts of economic development: business development, workforce development and quality of life. I intend to work very closely with my planning & zoning colleagues in the Community Development Department as well as the various elected and appointed officials at City Hall, Gwinnett County and the metro Atlanta region as a whole in order to help us continue making progress. We hope you enjoy reading each publication. Please do not hesitate to contact myself or Tara Smith, our Economic Development Coordinator, directly with any questions, concerns, or even if you just want to say hello. We are here for you! If we are unable to answer a question or solve an issue directly, we will be happy to help point you in the right direction and connect you with someone who can.

Sincerely,

William Corbin
Economic Development Director
